74:48 So the intercession of intercessors will not benefit them.

74:49 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from the Reminder,

74:50 as if they were terrified wild asses,

74:51 fleeing from a lion?

74:52 In fact, each one of them desires that open [divine] letters be sent to each of them[1].

74:53 By no means! They rather do not fear the Hereafter.

74:54 No indeed! This [Qur’an] is a reminder.

74:55 So whoever wills may take heed.

74:56 But they will not take heed unless Allah so wills. He is most worthy to be feared and most worthy to forgive.

75:1 I swear by the Day of Resurrection,

75:2 and I swear by the self-reproaching soul[1]!

75:3 Does man think that We cannot reassemble his bones?

75:4 In fact, We are able to restore even his very fingertips.

75:5 But man desires to persist in sin[1],

75:6 and asks [mockingly], “When is the Day of Resurrection?”

75:7 But when the sight is dazzled,

75:8 and the moon is darkened,

75:9 and the sun and the moon are brought together[1],

75:10 on that Day man will say, “Where is the escape?”

75:11 No indeed! There will be no refuge.

75:12 On that Day all will end up before your Lord.

75:13 On that Day man will be informed of what he has sent forth[1] and left behind[2].

75:14 In fact, man will be a witness against himself[1],

75:15 despite the excuses he may put forward.

75:16 Do not move your tongue [O Prophet] in haste trying to memorize it.

75:17 It is upon Us to make you memorize and recite it.

75:18 Then when We recite it [through Gabriel], follow its recitation attentively;

75:19 then it is upon Us to explain its meanings.
