106:1 For the accustomed security of the Quraysh[1],

106:2 secure in their winter and summer journeys[1].

106:3 Let them worship the Lord of this [Sacred] House[1],

106:4 Who fed them against hunger and made them secure against fear[1].

107:1 Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?

107:2 Such is the one who repulses the orphan harshly,

107:3 and does not urge others to feed the needy.

107:4 So woe to those who pray,

107:5 but are heedless of their prayer[1];

107:6 those who only show off,

107:7 and withhold even the small kindnesses.

108:1 We have surely given you [O Prophet] al-Kauthar [i.e., abundance][1],

108:2 so pray and offer sacrifice to your Lord alone.

108:3 Indeed, the one who hates you is truly cut off [from all goodness][1].
