89:23 and Hell is brought near on that Day – this is when man will understand, but what is the use of that understanding?
89:24 He will say, “Would that I had sent forth something for my [eternal] life!”
89:25 None can punish as He punishes on that Day,
89:26 and none can bind as He binds.
89:27 [It will be said to the believer,] “O tranquil soul!
89:28 Return to your Lord, well pleased and pleasing [to Him].
89:29 Join My [righteous] slaves,
89:30 and enter My Paradise.”
90:1 I do swear by this city [of Makkah] –
90:2 and you are free of restriction [for a while] in this city[1] –
90:3 and by every parent[1] and his offspring,
90:4 We have created man in hardship.
90:5 Does he think that none can ever have power over him?
90:6 He says, “I have squandered enormous wealth!”
90:7 Does he think that no one sees him?
90:8 Have We not given him two eyes,
90:9 and a tongue and two lips,
90:10 and shown him the two ways [of right and wrong]?
90:11 Yet he did not make his way through the steep path[1],
90:12 and how do you know what the steep path is?
90:13 It is freeing a slave,
90:14 or giving food on a day of hunger,
90:15 to an orphan relative,
90:16 or to a needy person in misery,
90:17 then [most importantly] to be one of those who believe and exhort one another to patience and exhort one another to compassion.
90:18 Such are the people of the Right[1].
