78:1 About what are they asking one another?
78:2 About the momentous news[1],
78:3 that which they differ about[1].
78:4 No indeed; they will come to know.
78:5 Again no; they will come to know.
78:6 Have We not made the earth a resting place?
78:7 And the mountains as stakes[1],
78:8 and created you in pairs,
78:9 and made your sleep for rest,
78:10 and made the night a covering[1],
78:11 and made the day for seeking a livelihood,
78:12 and built above you seven mighty heavens,
78:13 and made therein a blazing lamp,
78:14 and sent down from the rainclouds abundant water,
78:15 so that We may produce thereby grains and vegetation,
78:16 and gardens with dense foliage?
78:17 Indeed, the Day of Judgment is a time appointed,
78:18 the Day when the Trumpet will be blown, you will come forth in crowds,
78:19 and the sky will be opened up and will become gateways,
78:20 and the mountains will be leveled, becoming like a mirage.
78:21 Indeed, Hell is lying in wait,
78:22 a dwelling for the transgressors,
78:23 wherein they will remain for endless ages.
78:24 They will neither taste therein any coolness nor any drink,
78:25 except scalding water and discharge of wounds,
78:26 a fitting recompense[1].
78:27 Indeed, they did not expect a reckoning,
78:28 and utterly rejected Our verses.
78:29 But We have enumerated everything in a record[1].
78:30 So taste [the punishment], for We will not increase you except in torment[1].”
