54:50 Our command is but a single word[1], which is fulfilled in the blink of an eye.

54:51 We have destroyed many like you [O Makkans][1]; is there anyone to take heed?

54:52 Everything they did is in the written records,

54:53 and everything, small or big, is written down.

54:54 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and rivers[1],

54:55 seated in honor in the presence of the Most Powerful Sovereign.

55:1 The Most Compassionate,

55:2 has taught the Qur’an,

55:3 He created man,

55:4 and taught him speech.

55:5 The sun and the moon follow their precise courses,

55:6 and the stars[1] and trees prostrate [to Allah][2].

55:7 He raised the sky and enjoined justice

55:8 so that you may not transgress the limits of justice.

55:9 Therefore establish weights in justice, and do not give short measure.

55:10 He has spread out the earth for all creatures,

55:11 in which there are fruits and palm trees with date stalks,

55:12 and grain having chaff, and fragrant plants.

55:13 Then which of the favors of your Lord will you[1] deny?

55:14 He created man from dry clay like pottery,

55:15 and He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.

55:16 Then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?

55:17 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets[1].

55:18 Then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?
