38:1 Sād[1]. By the Qur’an, full of reminder[2],

38:2 yet those who disbelieve are in arrogance and dissension.

38:3 How many generations have We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was too late for deliverance.

38:4 They wonder that a warner has come to them from among themselves[1], and the disbelievers say, “This is a magician and a liar!

38:5 Has he made all gods into one God? Indeed, this is something strange!”

38:6 The leaders among them departed, saying, “Carry on as you are, and stay faithful to your gods. Indeed, there is a motive behind it[1].

38:7 We have not heard of this in the last religion[1]. This is nothing but a fabrication.

38:8 Has the Reminder been sent down to him from among us?” Rather, they are in doubt about My Reminder[1], for they have not yet tasted My punishment.

38:9 Or do they possess the treasuries of the mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Bestower?

38:10 Or do they have the dominion of the heavens and earth and all that is between them? Then let them ascend by any means[1].

38:11 This is only a small army[1] among several armies[2] that will soon be defeated.

38:12 The people of Noah rejected [their messengers] before them, as did ‘Aad and Pharaoh, the owner of stakes[1];

38:13 and Thamūd and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the Forest – such were the [denier] parties.

38:14 Each of them rejected their messenger, therefore My punishment became inevitable.

38:15 They are only waiting for a single Blast that cannot be stopped[1].

38:16 They say, “Our Lord, hasten for us our share [of punishment] before the Day of Reckoning.”
