26:20 He said, “I did it when I had no guidance.

26:21 So I fled from you in fear. Then my Lord gave me wisdom and made me one of the messengers.

26:22 Is this a favor that you remind me with, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?[1]

26:23 Pharaoh said, “What is ‘the Lord of the worlds’?”

26:24 Moses said, “The Lord of the heavens and earth and all that is between them, if only you had sure faith.”

26:25 Pharaoh said to those around him, “Did you hear [what he just said]?”

26:26 Moses said, “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.”

26:27 Pharaoh said, “Your messenger who has been sent to you is truly insane!”

26:28 Moses said, “Lord of the east and west and all that is between them, if only you had sense!”

26:29 Pharaoh said, “If you take any god other than me, I will throw you into prison.”

26:30 Moses said, “What if I bring you a clear proof?”

26:31 Pharaoh said, “Bring it then if you are truthful!”

26:32 So he threw down his staff, and suddenly it was a real serpent.

26:33 And he drew out his hand, and it was glowing white to the beholders.

26:34 Pharaoh said to the chiefs around him, “This is indeed a learned magician!

26:35 He wants to drive you out of your land with his magic. What do you suggest?”

26:36 They said, “Let him and his brother wait and dispatch heralds to the cities

26:37 to bring you every learned magician.”

26:38 So the magicians were assembled at an appointed time on a known day[1].

26:39 And it was said to the people, “Will you join the gathering,
