9:62 They swear by Allah to you [O Muslims] to please you, but it is Allah and His Messenger whose pleasure they should seek, if they are true believers.

9:63 Do they not know that whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger will dwell in the Fire of Hell forever? That is the ultimate disgrace.

9:64 The hypocrites fear that a chapter should be sent down about them, informing [the believers] of what is in their hearts[1]. Say [O Prophet], “Keep on mocking! Allah will certainly expose what you fear.”

9:65 If you question them, they will surely say, “We were only indulging in idle talk and playing.” Say, “Was it Allah, His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking[1]?”

9:66 Make no excuses; you have disbelieved after having believed[1]. If We pardon some of you, We will punish others because they are wicked.

9:67 The hypocrites, both men and women, are all alike; they enjoin what is evil and forbid what is good, and they withhold their hands [from giving][1]. They forgot Allah, so He forgot them. Indeed, the hypocrites are the rebellious.

9:68 Allah has promised the hypocrites, both men and women, and the disbelievers the Fire of Hell, abiding therein forever – it is sufficient for them. Allah has cursed them, and for them there will be an everlasting punishment.
