Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali, Muhammad Muhsin Khan — 592

87:11 11. But it will be avoided by the wretched,

87:12 12. Who will enter the great Fire (and will be made to taste its burning).

87:13 13. There he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living).

87:14 14. Indeed whosoever purifies himself (by avoiding polytheism and accepting Islâmic Monotheism) shall achieve success,

87:15 15. And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allâh), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawâfil - additional prayers).

87:16 16. Nay, you prefer the life of this world,

87:17 17. Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.

87:18 18. Verily, this is in the former Scriptures -

87:19 19. The Scriptures of Ibrâhîm (Abraham) and Mûsâ (Moses) (عليهما السلام).

88:1 1. Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)?

88:2 2. Some faces, that Day will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians).[1]

88:3 3. Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allâh), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace).[2]

88:4 4. They will enter in the hot blazing Fire.

88:5 5. They will be given to drink from a boiling spring,

88:6 6. No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant,

88:7 7. Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger.

88:8 8. (Other) faces that Day will be joyful,

88:9 9. Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islâmic Monotheism).[3]

88:10 10. In a lofty Paradise.

88:11 11. Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood.

88:12 12. Therein will be a running spring.

88:13 13. Therein will be thrones raised high.

88:14 14. And cups set at hand.

88:15 15. And cushions set in rows.

88:16 16. And rich carpets (all) spread out.

88:17 17. Do they not look at the camels, how they are created?

88:18 18. And at the heaven, how it is raised?

88:19 19. And at the mountains, how they are rooted (and fixed firm)?

88:20 20. And at the earth, how it is outspread?

88:21 21. So remind them (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) - you are only one who reminds.

88:22 22. You are not a dictator over them -
